Registration deadlines are Wednesday for two basketball programs hosted by the Jefferson park and recreation department.
The second session of mini basketball begins Saturday, Jan. 6. It is open to boys and girls in grades 1-2 who attended the first session. Children should attend at the same time they did during the fall, either 8:30 or 9:30 am.
Tot Shots for boys and girls in kindergarten will meet Saturdays, Jan. 6-20, from 10:30 to 11:05 at Greene County Elementary in Jefferson.
Registrations for mini basketball and Tot Shots are due by Jan. 3.
Winter mini cheerleading will meet Tuesday and Thursday, Jan. 9 and 11, from 3:30 to 5 pm at Greene County Elementary. Boys and girls in pre-K through fifth grade are invited to learn chees and then cheer at the Greene County Ram basketball game Friday, Jan. 12. Registration deadline is Monday, Jan. 8.
The Steven Silbaugh memorial youth wrestling tournament is slated for Sunday, Jan. 14, at Greene County Middle School.
Wrestlers in pre-k through second grade will weigh-in from 8 to 9 am. Competition will begin at 10 or when brackets are complete.
Wrestlers in grades 3-6 will weigh-in from 10:30 to 11:30 am. Competition will begin at 12:30 pm or when the younger wrestlers are finished.
The tournament will be a 4-man round robin format, with best attempts to separate wrestlers from the same club. Trophies will be awarded for first through fourth place. Individual champions will receive a beanie stocking cap.
